Our goal is to develop a site for you that not only looks and functions great, but delivers results and appeals to your target market.
The first step towards helping you achieve your online marketing goals is setting up a website planning call. There are many things to consider when it comes to your new site, and taking the time to plan, allows us to consider what appeals to you, along with all of the important components of your site: your market, your goals, and your desired results.
This is an important part of the discovery process and requires preparation to ensure that the call is effective.
Because building a website is a collaborative process, in order to prepare for the meeting, please take the time to gather the following information:
• 3-4 sites you like, if you haven’t included these in your original questionnaire. These can be direct competitors or they can be in a completely different industry. Be prepared to explain what you like about each site and how you think that would be helpful for your new website.
• 1-2 sites from your direct competitors that you do NOT like. Again, think about specific reasons why.
• Create a Pinterest board of things you like and that appeal to you visually. The pins do not have to be design specific – for example, you might pin an image of flowers that you are drawn to, but it is also helpful to pin a variety of things that appeal to you: colors, fonts, textures, objects, elements, imagery etc. This step allows us to determine an overall style that appeals to you and create a style tile. (*If you do not have a Pinterest account, and would prefer not to start one, let me know and I’ll create a thread within Basecamp for adding images there.)
